Campbell Fleming was named CEO of AssetCo, the money manager acquisition firm said in a news release Wednesday.
Mr. Fleming was global head of distribution and marketing at Standard Life Aberdeen.
Mr. Fleming is scheduled to start with AssetCo on Oct. 2.
Peter McKellar, who has served as deputy chairman and acting CEO since March, will remain deputy chairman.
Martin Gilbert, chairman of AssetCo, said in the release that the asset and wealth management industry is facing numerous challenges and that Mr. Campbell "shares our belief that AssetCo can play a key role by investing in, supporting and developing businesses to meet the needs of investors."
Mr. Gilbert, the former chairman and co-founder of Aberdeen Asset Management, noted that during Mr. McKellar's brief tenure as CEO, he has overseen the acquisition of Saracen Fund Managers, a majority equity interest in Rize ETF and a 30% equity interest in ParmenionCapital Partners.
