Tiffany Hsiao joined Artisan Partners as a managing director, the second person from Matthews Asia to join Artisan this month.
Ms. Hsiao and portfolio manager Beini Zhou both left Matthews Asia on Aug. 31.
Artisan spokesman Michael Roos confirmed Ms. Hsiao's hire in an email but declined to comment further on her role at the firm.
In a Sept. 4 news release, Artisan announced Mr. Zhou's appointment as a portfolio manager on the firm's international value equity team and co-manager on the new Artisan international small-cap value strategy when it launches in October. Mr. Zhou worked as a research analyst on Artisan's global value team between 2005 and 2013.
At Matthews Asia, Ms. Hsiao was lead manager of the China small companies strategy and the Matthews Asia small companies strategy as well as co-manager of the Matthews Asia innovators strategy, said Victoria Odinotska, a spokeswoman for Matthews Asia, in an email.
Mr. Zhou was lead manager on the Matthews Asia value strategy and co-manager of the Matthews Asia small companies strategy.
Ms. Hsiao and Mr. Zhou both were replaced in their investment roles by other Matthews Asia portfolio managers, Ms. Odinotska said.
Matthews Asia's president and global CIO, Yu-Ming Wang, also is leaving the firm. He announced his resignation on Sept. 2 and will leave on Sept. 30. A reason for his departure was not available.
