Matthew Beesley was named CIO of Artemis Investment Management, effective April 20, a spokesman said.
Mr. Beesley will replace Peter Saacke in the role. Mr. Saacke will remain at the firm and focus on managing Artemis' funds and segregated mandates.
"Peter will stand down from the role of CIO with our thanks for all he has done," said Mark Murray, senior partner, in a news release. "I am delighted that we will be welcoming Matthew as our new CIO. His experience and record speak for themselves."
Mr. Beesley worked as group head of investments at GAM Investments and will leave the firm in the second quarter after his responsibilities are assumed internally.
Artemis managed £27.5 billion ($35.9 billion) as of Jan. 31.
