Daniel Graf von der Schulenburg was named managing director and head of infrastructure Germany at Ardian.
Based in Frankfurt, he will begin the new position Wednesday and also join the supervisory board of German utility EWE, a spokeswoman confirmed. He will report to Mathias Burghardt, head of Ardian Infrastructure.
In February, Ardian completed the acquisition of a 26% stake in EWE.
Mr. von der Schulenburg was previously a London-based partner at 3i, where he managed infrastructure investments in energy, telecommunications and transportation. Kathryn van der Kroft, a 3i spokeswoman, said his responsibilities have been taken on by other infrastructure team members.
Ardian has about $16 billion in infrastructure assets under management in Europe and North America and $96 billion in total AUM.
