Grange Johnson has joined Appomattox Advisory, a New York-based outsourced chief investment officer, as deputy CIO and managing director.
Mr. Johnson will focus on portfolio construction, manager research and business development, said a Monday release.
Deputy CIO is a newly created position at the firm, a spokeswoman for Appomattox confirmed by email.
Mr. Johnson, who has more than 30 years of financial industry experience, particularly in event-driven and credit strategies, most recently served as managing director of investment banking at BTIG, the release noted.
Appomattox provides OCIO services for institutional investors, primarily endowments and foundations.
As of Dec. 31, Appomattox had about $1.3 billion in assets under management, according to the firm's website.
A spokesman for BTIG declined to comment on Mr. Johnson's successor.
