Monica Defend was named global head of research at Amundi, a spokeswoman said.
Ms. Defend replaced Philippe Ithurbide, who was appointed senior economic adviser to the general management of Amundi.
Ms. Defend has not yet been replaced in her previous role as deputy head of group research, which she had held since 2017.
Amundi had €1.49 trillion ($1.63 trillion) in assets under management as of June 30.
