Zijian Yang joined Allianz Global Investors as head of multiasset for Asia-Pacific, according to a news release Monday.
The role is new, a spokeswoman said. Mr. Yang reports to Thomas Zimmerer, global head of multiasset investments.
Mr. Yang had been a senior vice president for multiasset solutions at AllianceBernstein. His appointment marks his return to Allianz Global Investors, where he was a portfolio manager on different multiasset teams from 2008 to 2017.
An AllianceBernstein spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.
The release also said that Jingjing Chai, a portfolio manager who has worked with Allianz Global Investors' multiasset teams in Frankfurt and New York over the past eight years, will relocate to Hong Kong from New York to become head of multiasset for Hong Kong and Taiwan.
The position is new, the spokeswoman said. Ms. Chai will report to Mr. Yang.
Allianz Global Investors anticipates "a steady increase in clients' interest in investing into the multiasset space," Mr. Zimmerer said in the release.
Allianz Global Investors ran a total $143 billion in multiasset AUM as of March 31, with $5 billion managed in the Asia-Pacific region, the spokeswoman said.
