Kayvan Vahid was appointed head of equity Europe core and value at Allianz Global Investors, a spokeswoman confirmed.
The position is new, she added. Mr. Vahid will be based in London and report to Jorg De Vries-Hippen, head of investments equity Europe.
"The addition of Kayvan to the team will further strengthen our capabilities in European core and value investing, an area we know is of key importance to our clients," Mr. De Vries-Hippen said in a news release. "Kayvan's investment approach, particularly his experience in value investing, will complement the existing team whilst bringing a fresh perspective to our existing approach and client solutions."
Mr. Vahid was deputy head of global value equity and head of European midcap equities at UBS Asset Management in London. Phil Haigh took on the role of deputy head of global value equity in June. Details on the European midcap equities position were not available.
