Alger Management hired heads of business development for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and for Asia-Pacific as part of its global sales expansion plan.
Stephen Hearle joined the $22 billion growth equity firm as senior vice president and head of EMEA business development, based in London, and Stephen King was appointed as senior vice president and head of APAC business development, based in Singapore, a statement said.
Both roles are new, a spokeswoman said.
Both are responsible for tapping opportunities and growing relationships in relation to client such as institutional investors, consultants, wealth managers, and family offices in their respective regions.
Mr. Hearle reports to Christoph Hofmann, president and chief distribution officer, while Mr. King reports to Mr. Hearle.
Mr. Hearle was most recently head of institutional and wholesale distribution, and global head of consultant relations at Nordea Asset Management in London. Nordea Asset Management is in the process of finding his replacement, and his duties are covered in the interim by David Crawford, head of institutional and wholesale distribution U.K., who reports to Anders Madsen, managing director and head of wholesale distribution for Northern Europe, Mr. Madsen confirmed.
Mr. King joined from Fiera Capital where he was head of institutional sales for APAC. He also worked in the EMEA institutional sales team at Fiera Capital.
Fiera Capital could not be reached for information about Mr. King's replacement.
