Chris Thorne was named a managing director for private equity and real assets research in Aksia's London office, a spokeswoman said.
He will be responsible for coverage of European private equity and real assets, which were previously covered by the U.S. staff.
Mr. Thorne started Monday and reports to Thomas Martin, head of private equity and real assets research, and Valerie Benard, head of Aksia Europe.
Mr. Thorne is involved in all stages of the investment process, including sourcing, due diligence, monitoring and assisting the portfolio advisory team, a news release said.
Aksia provides specialist alternative investment research and portfolio advisory services to institutional investors, advising on more than $160 billion of client alternative allocations and more than $10 billion in committed assets under management.
Mr. Thorne was most recently a managing director responsible for European primary private equity funds and syndicated co-investments in London at Temasek, the S$306 billion ($230 billion) Singapore-based government-owned investment company.
A spokesman for Temasek confirmed that Mr. Thorne was part of its private equity fund investments team, adding that it continues to be headed by Benoit Valentin. He did not comment on any replacement.
