Stephen Dougherty was named global head of product at Aegon Asset Management, spokesman Bradley Dawson confirmed in an email.
The position is new. Mr. Dougherty will oversee an 11-person team responsible for managing the company's global product strategy, which has four investment platforms: fixed income, real assets, equities and multiasset and solutions. He will be based in Chicago and report to Chris Thompson, global head of client group.
Mr. Dougherty was managing director, head of structured assets and alternatives, at Voya Investment Management. His role has been assumed by Bill Golden, managing director and head of product management and development, confirmed Voya spokesman Kristopher Kagel.
The appointment of Mr. Dougherty follows the firm recently naming Anne Coupe as global head of consultant relations and global financial institutions in July and Russ Morrison as global chief investment officer for its fixed-income investment platform in June.
Aegon Asset Management managed $408 billion in assets as of June 30.
