Jeff Grills was named head of emerging markets debt at Aegon Asset Management, spokesman Bradley Dawson said.
The position is new. Mr. Grills will be responsible for managing the firm's emerging markets strategies and leading the emerging markets debt team, which manages $3.8 billion in assets. He will report to Jim Schaeffer, deputy chief investment officer.
Mr. Grills was a partner at Gramercy Funds Management and a senior portfolio manager for emerging markets strategies. Gramercy spokeswoman Rachel Bangser declined to comment on replacement information.
Aegon Asset Management had $386 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
