Jonathan Mondillo has been promoted to global head of fixed income at Edinburgh, Edinburgh-based asset manager abrdn, succeeding Craig MacDonald, who is leaving the company to pursue postgraduate studies in philosophy after 22 years with the firm.
MacDonald will remain as a senior adviser “well into next year to ensure a smooth transition,” said a Sept. 6 news release.
Mondillo previously was head of U.S. fixed income. A spokesperson said Mondillo’s successor as head of U.S. fixed income is yet to be announced.
In addition, Marianne Zangerl was named to the newly created position of deputy global head of fixed income, while retaining her position as head of ESG-fixed income.
Also, Felix Freund, head of European credit, takes on an expanded role as head of developed markets credit.
Abrdn’s fixed-income team manages more than £130 billion ($166 billion) in assets.
Overall, abrdn manages and administers £505.9 billion in assets.
