Mark Redman will join Aberdeen Standard Investments as global head of private markets designate, a spokesman confirmed.
Mr. Redman will join Oct. 19 and will replace Peter McKellar as global head of private markets once the appointment is approved by regulators. Mr. McKellar will retire at the end of the month.
ASI runs £55.1 billion ($71.2 billion) in private markets portfolios across real estate, private equity, infrastructure, real assets and private credit.
"Peter had long committed to his wife and family that he would retire at 55, and this reflects that decision," Rod Paris, CIO at Aberdeen Standard Investments, said in the release. "I am delighted that we have secured someone of Mark's caliber to drive global growth in our franchise as we continue to deliver innovative solutions and generate performance for our clients."
Mr. Redman was global head of private equity at the Ontario Municipal Employees' Retirement System, Toronto, which had C$109 billion ($83.4 billion) in assets as of Dec. 31. Mr. Redman left March 31, and was replaced by Michael Graham.
