Simon Fraser, chairman of The Investor Forum and former CIO of Fidelity International, died Aug. 9 following a brief illness.
He was 62. Mr. Fraser was the founding chairman of the non-profit forum that seeks to enhance engagement between U.K. investors and U.K. corporations.
The forum under Mr. Fraser's guidance established a collective engagement model in response to the 2012 Kay Review, an initiative by the U.K. government aimed at enhancing the performance of U.K. companies for the benefit of savers.
"Through his wisdom, grace and expertise Simon made a huge contribution to the investment industry and helped to demonstrate the crucial role of stewardship in creating sustainable long-term value," the forum said in a note on its website.
Mr. Fraser was Fidelity's CIO from 1981 to 2008.
