Jo Holden was named global head of investment research at Mercer, effective immediately and replacing Deb Clarke.
Ms. Clarke will retire at the end of June. In the interim she will become global research chairwoman, providing transition support to Ms. Holden.
Reporting to Rich Nuzum, president, investments and retirement, Ms. Holden is responsible for Mercer's manager and strategic research and oversees more than 100 asset class specialists across liquid alternatives, fixed income and equities. She also manages the team responsible for strategic asset allocation, dynamic asset allocation, strategic research and responsible investing, a news release said.
"Jo is an established, well-regarded leader with many years of experience providing exceptional guidance and solutions to our clients," Mr. Nuzum said in the release. "Our globally coordinated research is core to our investment proposition so we are delighted to have Jo build on the outstanding work that Deb has done leading our research teams in identifying promising investment opportunities for our clients."
Ms. Holden was CIO for Mercer's U.K. investments and retirement business and European strategic director of research. In the short term, her duties have been distributed within the team, a spokesman said.
