Lionel Laurant was named managing director and co-head of special situations at Intermediate Capital Group, a spokeswoman said.
The role is new. Mr. Laurant shares responsibilities with co-head Alan Ross, who joined in 2019. He is also responsible for the management of the ICG Recovery Fund II.
"Lionel's hire reflects ICG's belief in the special situations opportunity set across Europe at present. His extensive track record in building out successful special situations investment platforms makes him a key hire for accelerating ICG's footprint in this area, bringing significant experience to the team across the liquid and illiquid asset classes," Benoit Durteste, CEO and CIO of ICG, said in a news release Thursday.
ICG has €47.2 billion ($57.4 billion) in assets under management.
