Steven M. Herbert was named executive director, office of investments, at the Kentucky Retirement Systems, Frankfort.
He will take on the $20 billion pension fund’s top investment management position on Jan. 16, a news release said Thursday.
Mr. Herbert previously was vice president and chief operating officer at Augustine Asset Management, a wealth management firm.
He replaces Rich Robben, who left KRS on Sept. 30 along with Andy Kiehl, deputy executive director, office of investments. They both joined investment consultant AndCo Consulting as field consultants in October.
KRS spokesman Chris Clair said discussions regarding Mr. Kiehl’s position are ongoing.
