Global Infrastructure Partners closed on about $2.8 billion through two infrastructure credit funds, spokesman Pen Pendleton said in an email.
The funds, GIP Capital Solutions Fund II and GIP Spectrum Fund, each raised $1.4 billion in capital commitments.
GIP Capital Solutions II makes debt and equity investments in companies in sectors including midstream energy, renewable energy and transportation. GIP Spectrum invests in lower risk debt in the same sectors.
Investors in GIP Capital Solutions Fund II include the $13.5 billion Ohio School Employees Retirement, Columbus, and the $8.1 billion Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System, Jefferson City.
Investors in the GIP Spectrum Fund include the $30 billion Texas Municipal Retirement System, Austin.
