Navyug "Nav" Patel was named deputy chief investment officer of the New York State Common Retirement Fund, according to a news release Wednesday on the website of Thomas DiNapoli, the state comptroller and sole trustee of the $194.3 billion pension fund.
Mr. Patel has been interim deputy CIO since July 2018 when former deputy CIO Anastasia Titarchuk was named interim CIO to replace the retiring Vicki Fuller. Ms. Titarchuk was named permanent CIO in August 2019.
Mr. Patel joined the pension fund in 2015 as a senior investment officer on the opportunistic and absolute-return strategies team and was named director of that team in 2017 before taking on the interim deputy CIO role.
Matthew Sweeney, spokesman for Mr. DiNapoli, could not be immediately reached for further information.
