Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, committed $725 million to five alternative investment funds in April, a transaction report from the $167.2 billion fund showed.
For the month of April, TRS committed $350 million to two real estate funds: $250 million to a Guadalupe Partner fund managed by USAA Equity Advisors; and $100 million to CBRE Strategic Partners 9 Tiger, a U.S. value-added real estate fund managed by CBRE Global Investors.
The investment team committed $375 million to three private equity funds for the month, including $200 million to Clayton Dubilier & Rice XI, a buyout fund. The pension plan previously committed to the 10th fund in the firm's series.
TRS also committed to two upper-middle-market buyout funds focused on the software and services industry and managed by HgCapital — $125 million to Hg Genesis 9 and $50 million to Hg Saturn 2.
