Andrew Swan will join Man GLG in Sydney as head of Asia (ex-Japan) equities this summer.
The position is new and Mr. Swan is expected to join in August, a news release said.
He will report to Man GLG CEO Teun Johnston.
Mr. Swan will be responsible for managing a new concentrated long-only Asia ex-Japan equity strategy for Man GLG.
As of Dec. 31, Man GLG had $31.6 billion in assets under management.
Mr. Swan was a managing director, head of Asia and global emerging market fundamental equities at BlackRock in Hong Kong.
A BlackRock spokeswoman said Gordon Fraswer and Stephen Andrews, both managing directors and portfolio managers on BlackRock's emerging markets equity team, have been named co-heads of global emerging markets equities, while Sam Vecht, also a managing director and portfolio manager on the team, has been named head of emerging Europe, frontiers and alternative strategies. All three will report to Belinda Boa, BlackRock's CIO of global emerging markets.
