Xavier Rolet was named CEO at credit-focused money manager CQS, London.
Mr. Rolet assumes the role Jan. 14. The appointment will allow current CEO Michael Hintze, founder of the firm, to focus on investment management. He will continue as the firm's senior investment officer and will also become group executive chairman.
Mr. Rolet was most recently CEO of the London Stock Exchange Group; he left in November 2017.
Mr. Rolet will lead the firm's next stage of growth, a news release Friday said.
"I am excited that (Mr. Rolet) is joining us and very pleased that we have been able to attract a CEO of such caliber who will help establish CQS for the long-term," Mr. Hintze said in the release. "He has the experience and has demonstrated he knows how to build financial services businesses."
Mr. Hintze said that as executive chairman he will continue to "help shape CQS' vision and direction," focusing on investment management, leading investment teams and client engagement.
"It is imperative that we meet client needs, perform, build business resilience and provide opportunities for our people," he said in the release.
Mr. Rolet's appointment is subject to regulatory approvals.
CQS has $18.1 billion in assets under management, a spokesman said.
