The diversified return investment team of Agilis Investment Management will join RWC Partners, a spokeswoman said.
Clark Fenton, Charles Crowson and Praveen Kanakamedala will become the RWC diversified return team. The team manages the $75 million Protea Fund-Agilis UCITS, which will become an RWC fund. Additional details were not immediately available.
"The drive for alternatives continues to grow, and (Mr. Fenton) and his team have designed an innovative investment approach which offers an uncorrelated solution with the benefits of low cost, frequent liquidity and simplicity," said Dan Mannix, CEO of RWC Partners, in a news release. "The strategy enhances the breadth of our capabilities and will help meet the increasing demand from investors for strategies that have a low correlation with their core equity and bond portfolios."
The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals, which are expected in the third quarter.
RWC had $17 billion in assets under management as of April 30.
