Julian Weldon was named managing director and head of corporate strategy at CIFC Asset Management, spokesman Chris Gillick said.
The position is new. Mr. Weldon will lead the expansion of CIFC's non-collateralized loan obligation businesses. He will report to Steve Vaccaro and Oliver Wriedt, co-presidents of parent CIFC Corp.
Mr. Weldon was general counsel and chief compliance officer at Garrison Investment Group. He was replaced by Mike Butler, who was previously general counsel and chief compliance officer at Hercules Technology Growth Capital, said Garrison spokesman Edward Callaway.
CIFC currently serves more than 250 institutional investors globally and manages $13.7 billion in assets.
