Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $89 million to private equity and venture capital funds, a transaction report on the $24.6 billion pension fund’s website showed.
TCDRS committed €35 million ($37.8 million) to Waterland Private Equity Fund VI and $11 million to the fund’s companion co-investment vehicle, WPEF VI Overflow Fund.
The funds are managed by Bussum, Netherlands-based Waterland Private Equity Investments and seek to provide portfolio companies with the means to accelerate their growth organically and through acquisitions. The funds’ geographic focus is in seven northern European countries: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.
Also, the pension fund committed $40 million to Institutional Venture Partners XV. The venture capital fund invests exclusively in U.S. later-stage technology companies.
The three commitments were made in April.
