The U.S. Census Bureau said Wednesday that median household income in 2014 had no “statistically significant change” in real terms from 2013.
The median household income nationwide was $53,657 in 2014 vs. $54,462 a year earlier. The Census Bureau said in its release that a “comparison of real median household income over the past seven years shows that income is 6.5% lower than in 2007, the year before the nation entered the most recent economic recession.”
The West was the only region to experience a statistically significant year-over-year change. Median income there of $57,688 was 4.6% lower than in 2013.
