David Winborne was named director and senior portfolio manager at Impax Asset Management Group, spokesman Joshua Clarkson said.
The position is new. Mr. Winborne will help manage Impax’s existing equity strategies and work on new strategy development. He will report to Bruce Jenkyn-Jones, managing director and head of listed equities.
Mr. Winborne was equity fund manager, global equities at Tesco Pension Investment, the in-house manager for the Tesco’s £8.4 billion ($13 billion) pension fund. It could not be learned by press time whether he was replaced; Tesco spokesman Matt Francis could not be reached.
Impax Asset Management managed about $5 billion in assets as of Aug. 31.
