Michael Samaha was named managing director in Pramerica Investment Management’s global institutional relationship group, said a spokesman for parent company Prudential Financial, in an e-mail.
It is a new position.
Mr. Samaha, who started last week, focuses on building and expanding Pramerica’s client relationships in the Middle East and Europe.
He reports to James Sullivan, head of Pramerica Investment Management’s global institutional relationship group.
Previously, Mr. Samaha was executive vice president and head of Middle East and Africa at PIMCO. A spokesman for Pacific Investment Management Co. could not immediately be reached for information on a replacement.
Pramerica, the global investment management arm for Prudential Financial, had $948 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
