Guy Williams was appointed chief investment officer for BNP Paribas Investment Partners’ institutional business, a spokesman said.
The position is new, and Mr. Williams is responsible for promoting collaboration across institutional investment teams, and for developing investment strategies and market views.
The institutional team also added Daniel Morris as senior investment strategist, and Richard Barwell as senior economist. Both are new positions. Messrs. Morris and Barwell also work on collaboration between investment teams and formulating investment views across all asset classes, focused on alpha generation.
Mr. Morris was previously global investment strategist at TIAA-CREF Asset Management, said a news release from BNP Paribas IP. Spokesmen could not be reached for comment by press time. Mr. Barwell was previously a senior European economist within the Royal Bank of Scotland’s markets and international banking division, the news release said.
Mr. Williams was previously chief investment officer of Fischer, Francis, Trees & Watts, which is BNP Paribas IP’s global fixed-income subsidiary. This role has been taken on by Dominick DeAlto, who becomes CIO and head of FFTW and BNP Paribas IP’s institutional fixed income. Mr. DeAlto was previously head of global multisector and sector rotation at BNP Paribas IP.
Mr. DeAlto has added two additional staff to his team, both new positions. Timothy Johnson was appointed head of total return multisector, incorporating part of Mr. DeAlto’s former position. His new position covers both global multisector and global sovereign teams. He was previously head of global sovereign fixed income. Further details were not available by press time.
Dan Singleman joined BNP Paribas IP as senior portfolio manager on the sector rotation alpha team. He was previously a portfolio manager at Aflac Global Investments. Aflac spokesmen could not be reached for comment by press time.
