Kunio Watanabe was appointed CEO of Tokyo-based Nomura Asset Management, effective April 1, according to an announcement Wednesday from parent company Nomura Holdings.
Mr. Watanabe will replace Toshihiro Iwasaki, confirmed a Nomura spokeswoman. Mr. Iwasaki will take on the position of senior managing director of Nomura Holdings' China business.
Currently, Mr. Watanabe is senior corporate managing director, head of the overseas clients division. Fumiki Kondo, CEO of Nomura Holdings' Instinet business, will replace Mr. Watanabe as head of the overseas clients division.
