According to BlackRock's February ETP Landscape, global fixed-income exchange-traded products set a monthly record for inflows at $19.6 billion. BlackRock said the majority of fixed-income flows took place early in the month as U.S. equity outflows accelerated.
Net outflows of $13.2 billion in emerging markets ETPs during the first two months of 2014 have already exceeded last year's total outflows ($10.3 billion). Total year-to-date fixed-income and developed markets equity inflows totaled $23.1 billion and $11.3 billion, respectively, through February.
Total ETP assets ended the month at $2.43 trillion – up 1.6% since the beginning of the year.
