San Francisco City & County Employees' Retirement System is searching for a general investment consultant.
The RFP was approved by the $20.1 billion system's board on Wednesday. The contract with the current consultant, Angeles Investment Advisors, expires at the end of the year. Angeles is invited to rebid and will be on holdover status until a new contract is expected to start on April 1.
The contract will be for three years with the possibility of two one-year extensions.
The consultant has primary responsibility to serve as an adviser on matters related to asset allocation, investment policy and the system's public markets portfolio. The consultant also monitors managers and total fund performance, and makes recommendations on investment policy issues.
The deadline for response is 5 p.m. PST on Nov. 14.
Pension fund officials are expected to make a recommendation to the system's board on Feb. 11, which is scheduled to approve the hiring of a firm on that date.
The RFP is available on SFERS' website.
