Denise Kehler was named president and CEO of the C$3.1 billion (US$2.8 billion) Manitoba Teachers’ Retirement Allowances Fund, Winnipeg.
She began on Tuesday, according to the pension fund’s website.
Ms. Kehler replaced Jeff Norton, who left the fund on Oct. 4 to become vice president, investments, for real estate investment manager Globe General Agencies.
Brenda Venuto, vice president, member services, had been acting CEO, while David Asselstine, vice president and chief risk officer, oversaw the pension fund’s investment department.
Ms. Kehler was director of investment services at the Public Employees Benefit Agency of Saskatchewan, which oversees the C$5.6 billion Saskatchewan Public Employees Pension Plan and C$1.6 billion Saskatchewan Municipal Employees’ Pension Plan, both in Regina. She has not been replaced, according to a spokeswoman.
