Sarah Samuels was named senior investment officer, director of public markets and investment research, at MassPRIM, according to a pension fund internal memo provided to Pensions & Investments.
Effective Nov. 4, Ms. Samuels replaces Hannah Commoss, deputy chief investment officer, public markets and director of strategic initiatives, who is leaving MassPRIM after accepting a position at a private investment firm, according to the memo from Michael Trotsky, executive director and chief investment officer of the $53.9 billion pension fund.
Ms. Samuels will lead Boston-based Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board’s public markets group. Ms. Samuels will report directly to Mr. Trotsky.
Ms. Samuels was senior investment officer, public equities at MassPRIM. The pension fund is currently looking for a replacement, according to the memo.
