University System of Maryland Foundation, Adelphi, created two new positions for a new fund-of-funds strategic partnership at the $994 million foundation, which covers 11 universities and colleges and six non-profit organizations.
The director of public market investments will work with money manager Rock Creek Group to oversee hedge fund and long-only equity investments.
The director of asset allocation and risk management will work with public and private market directors and with foundation chief investment officer Samuel Gallo.
“We're trying to create a model that is allowing for very efficient portfolio management in terms of people and time,” Mr. Gallo said in an interview.
