Jun Park joined the Seoul office of alternatives investment firm Highland Capital Management as director of business development for Korea, a spokesman confirmed Tuesday.
He replaces Chris Yoon, who left at the start of 2013. In 2011, Mr. Yoon helped open Highland Capital's office in Seoul. Mr. Yoon couldn't be reached immediately for details regarding his plans.
Mr. Park comes to Highland Capital from Woori Financial Principal Investment in Seoul, where he served as a senior investment manager and oversaw more than $1 billion in private equity assets, according to a Highland Capital news release.
A Woori Financial spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Mr. Park will report to Paul Adkins, Highland Capital's Singapore-based managing director of business development for the Asia-Pacific region.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Adkins said Mr. Park's investment experience should serve Highland Capital well at a moment when Korean institutional investor interest in private equity is growing.
