Do you know a college student interested in entering the hedge fund industry, but who is worried about possibly losing his or her soul to greed?
Their fear might be allayed at The Hedge Fund Association's Student Symposium on Nov. 20 at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J.
The goal of the event is to “give students a taste of the hedge fund world,” said Keith Novick, chairman of HFA's Academic Advisory Board and a senior consultant with MJK Consulting Inc., New York.
College students will mingle with hedge fund industry bigwigs before the keynote speaker, Anthony Scaramucci, assures them their souls will be safe if they opt to become a hedge fund portfolio manager or chief operating officer.
Mr. Scaramucci is an expert on the topic: His most recent book is “Goodbye Gordon Gekko: How to Find your Fortune Without Losing Your Soul.” He is founder and co-managing partner of hedge funds-of-funds manager SkyBridge Capital LLC, New York. A panel of hedge fund executives will provide further advice to would-be industry recruits.
The event is free, including a copy of Mr. Scarramucci's book, and all college students are welcome to attend.
