Gilbert Tse was named head of Lyxor Asset Management, Asia.
The Hong Kong-based position is new. A news release from Paris-based Lyxor said Mr. Tse will coordinate the firm's businesses throughout Asia, with a focus on Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and South Korea, while working to strengthen the firm's ties with its joint venture in China, Fortune SG Fund Management Co.
Mr. Tse was executive vice general manager of Fortune SG Fund Management. The firm will announce a replacement soon, according to the release.
Lyxor, a subsidiary of Societe Generale Group, had US$97.8 billion in assets under management as of April 30, the release said. A spokeswoman said the company doesn't provide separate asset figures for Asia.
