Ravi Sriskandarajah was named managing director of BMO Global Asset Management and head of the money manager's planned Melbourne, Australia, office, effective July 1, confirmed Nini Krishnappa, BMO Global spokesman.
The new office will focus on Australian institutional investors.
“Australians have more money invested in managed funds per capita than any other economy so there's tremendous upside for our asset management business in the region,” Barry McInerney, co-CEO at BMO Global Asset Management, said in a news release.
Mr. Sriskandarajah was head of institutional distribution for BlackRock Australia. He left in April and was replaced by Jason Collins, who had been COO of Ascalon Capital Managers, according to a news release on BlackRock's website.
Details regarding the official date for opening BMO Global's Melbourne office “are still being worked out,” Mr. Krishnappa said.
