San Joaquin County Employees’ Retirement Association, Stockton, Calif., committed $42 million total to three managers, confirmed CEO Annette St. Urbain.
The $2 billion pension fund committed $15 million each to Miller Global Fund VII and Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners, opportunistic real estate funds managed by Miller Global Properties and Brookfield Asset Management, respectively.
The pension fund invested in two prior Miller funds; this is the first commitment to Brookfield, Ms. St. Urbain said in a telephone interview.
The pension fund also committed $12 million to Morgan Creek Partners V, a private equity fund managed by Morgan Creek Capital Management. It is the pension fund’s first commitment to Morgan Creek.
