G. David MacEwen and Victor Zhang were named co-chief investment officers at American Century Investments, confirmed spokesman Chris Doyle.
They replace Enrique Chang, who left the firm earlier this year to join Janus Capital Group as CIO of equities and asset allocation.
Mr. MacEwen, whose appointment is effective immediately, will oversee the firm's global fixed-income operations and will continue working at the firm's Mountain View, Calif., location. He has been CIO, fixed-income strategies, at American Century since 2001. No one will be taking on his previous title, Mr. Doyle said.
Mr. Zhang will oversee the firm's global equity operations and will begin his job on Feb. 17. He will work at the firm's Kansas City, Mo., office. He is currently president and CIO at Wilshire Funds Management. Mr. Zhang will step down as president and CIO at the end of December but remain at Wilshire to assist with the transition through the end of January.
Jason Schwarz takes over as president at Wilshire Funds Management and Cleo Chang as CIO, according to a statement from John Hindman, president of Wilshire Associates, which is the parent of WFM.
Mr. Schwarz is currently managing director, global head of business development and client service, and president of the Wilshire Mutual Funds and variable insurance trusts, and will take on his new role Jan. 1. Ms. Chang is currently managing director and head of investment research and will take on the role of CIO, also on Jan. 1. Further information on Mr. Schwarz and Ms. Chang's old roles was not available by press time.
