Iowa Public Employees' Retirement System, Des Moines, could initiate a search for a general investment consultant this month.
Karl C. Koch, chief investment officer, plans to ask the IPERS investment board at its Thursday meeting to authorize issuing an RFP for the search, according to the agenda.
Incumbent Wilshire Associates' contract expires in September 2014 and the firm “is welcome to rebid,” Judy Akre, IPERS director of communications, said in an e-mail. IPERS is required by law to rebid the contract, Ms. Akre added.
IPERS, which oversees $25.1 billion in assets, hopes to post the RFP on its website “within a day or two” after the meeting, Ms. Akre said.
