Kern County Employees’ Retirement Association, Bakersfield, Calif., is searching for a global custodian, confirmed Gloria Dominguez, executive director.
Northern Trust has been the custodian since 2000 and may rebid.
The $3.4 billion pension fund could hire more than one firm to handle different services, such as securities lending, cash management or brokerage services, according to the RFP.
Investment consultant Wurts & Associates is assisting.
The RFP is available on KCERA’s website. Proposals are due at 4 p.m. PST Dec. 31. A hiring decision is expected in March.
Ms. Dominguez was named executive director in November, replacing Anne Holdren, who retired after 10 years with the pension fund. Ms. Dominguez was previously the assistant executive director.
