Massachusetts Water Resources Authority Employees' Retirement System, Chelsea, is searching for a financial services auditor for the $370 million pension fund.
The audits would be for calendar year 2012, 2013 and 2014, said Sheryl Trezise, executive director.
The last audit was done for 2011 by the Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission. The retirement system conducts an audit each year, while PERAC provides the service every three years.
Annual audits are not required by state law or regulation, Ms. Trezise said, but it's “good auditing and accounting practice. … It's great to have an independent service come in with a separate set of eyes.”
The RFP is available from Ms. Trezise by mail at MWRA Employees' Retirement System, 2 Griffin Way, Chelsea, MA 02150; by phone at 617-305-5595; or by e-mail at [email protected].
Proposals are due at noon EDT Sept. 5. A selection is expected by Oct. 31.
