Sunita Kara was named European high-yield portfolio manager at Aviva Investors, based in the London office, confirmed spokeswoman Daisy Hall.
Ms. Kara replaces Andrew Lake, who left the firm in 2012.
Ms. Kara reports to Todd Youngberg, senior vice president and head of high-yield investments. Ms. Kara will manage the European portions of Aviva's global high-yield bond accounts. Aviva manages about $6 billion in high-yield bonds.
Ms. Kara most recently was a high-yield manager at Baring Asset Management. “We are currently in the process of replacing her using internal resources and are also hiring into the team,” spokeswoman Joanna Pope said in an e-mail.
