New stock market indexes for the Czech Republic and Hungary will be included in the Morgan Stanley Capital International indexes as of the close of Sept. 2, according to Capital International Perspective, which calculates the MSCI indexes. Capital International also said the MSCI Russia Index is in development and more details on it, including its launch date, will be released in coming months.
The MSCI Czech Republic index will contain 21 securities representing a market capitalization of U.S.$11.5 billion as of June 19; this represents approximately 46% of the total market cap of the country. In its full coverage, MSCI follows 35 securities. MSCI Hungary index contains nine securities representing a market capitalization of U.S.$2.8 billion as of June 19th, or about 63.8% of the country's total market capitalization.
