Three former executives of Wedgewood Capital Management launched Trias Capital Management in Chicago, offering fixed-income and cash management to institutions.
James A. Casselberry Jr., formerly senior portfolio manager and COO at Wedgewood, will be chairman and CEO of Trias; he'll be responsible for business development and portfolio management. Michael L. Lucas, previously senior vice president and director of marketing at Wedgewood, will be president; he'll be responsible for marketing. Nora J. Bustamante, Wedgewood's director of client services, will be COO and will head client services at the new firm.
Trias has signed two institutional clients Mr. Casselberry wouldn't name; they are not Wedgewood clients. The firm initially will offer two cash strategies tactical (with a 24-month duration) and strategic (with a 13-month duration), and two fixed-income strategies composite bond (a total return approach) and liability-matched portfolios.
