The Hampden County Board of Retirement, Springfield, Mass., is considering a search for new fixed-income managers to replace Wellington Management and Freedom Capital, confirmed Bill Southerland, executive director. Wellington manages about $20 million and Freedom about $32 million for the $100 million-plus fund.
Trustees will decide within the next month whether to issue RFPs.
The fund, which already replaced its small-cap and international stock managers and hired its first real estate manager, is evaluating the bond manager search as part of the broader manager review, Mr. Southerland said. ``We are still in the discussion stages,'' he said. Segal Advisors is assisting.
