Retired major league baseball players who played before 1947 have filed a class action suit against the league, seeking financial relief from the use of their names and likenesses. The players' attorneys indicate if the league offers to settle, an acceptable settlement would be inclusion of the pre-1947 players in the league's pension plan. Players who retired before 1947 do not receive a pension from the league's plan, which was established that year. Members of the class include Peter Coscarart, a member of the 1940 National League All Star Team; 1938 National League MVP Dolph Camilli; former Brooklyn Dodger Luis Olmos; and former Yankee Ed Levy.
